Diego Maradona: Police raid doctor's house and clinic

 

Four days after the death of famous Argentine soccer player Diego Maradona, police raided the clinic and home of his doctor Leopoldo Luke.

Maradona is one of the most talked about and great players in the world. Police are investigating through raids whether there was any negligence in Maradona's treatment.

Maradona, 60, died of a heart attack at his home in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, on November 25.

Maradona's daughters have demanded an investigation into the medicine given to their father. In early November, Maradona underwent a successful surgery to remove blood clots in his brain. He was also being treated for alcoholism.
Dr Loki said he was assisting police in the investigation. He says he did what he could to save Maradona's life.

At least 30 police officers raided Red Loki's home on Sunday morning and 30 others raided his clinic in Buenos Aires, local time.




At the behest of prosecutors, officials are trying to find out what happened on Maradona's last day. It is said that when Maradona was sent home for recovery, he was not in that position and should have been kept in the clinic for another day.

What was the reason for Maradona's fame?
Maradona was the captain when Argentina won the World Cup in 1986. Maradona's 'Hand of God' goal against England was famous in the quarter finals of this World Cup.

Maradona also played for Barcelona and Napoli football clubs. He also won two series and a title for the Italian club. Maradona began his career with Argentina's junior teams.

He also played for Sevilla, Boca Juniors and New Old Boys. He scored 34 goals in 91 appearances for Argentina. Of these, Maradona played in four World Cups.

Maradona was the captain when Argentina won the World Cup in 1986



Maradona also led Argentina to the 1990 World Cup final in Italy, but lost to West Germany. Maradona was sent back from the US World Cup in 1994 after testing positive for drugs.

Maradona struggled with cocaine addiction in the second half of his career. He was banned for 15 months in 1991 after testing positive for LARG.

On the occasion of his 37th birthday in 1997, Maradona retired from professional football. Maradona was appointed coach of Argentina's national football team in 2008.

Maradona also quit his job as coach after the 2010 World Cup. In the 2010 World Cup, Argentina lost to Germany in the quarterfinals. Maradona then worked for the football team in the United Arab Emirates and Mexico. When Maradona died, he was in charge of the Gymnasium Age Germa Club.
